Business Tenets

Below are my core beliefs and principals I’ve developed over the course of my career. These tenets are mostly business focused and have been influenced by my family, people I’ve worked with, leaders I admire and books I’ve read. There is no particular order to these tenets as of now.

  1. Write everything down.
  2. Lead by example.
  3. Great things come out of left field. Be open to change.
  4. Persistence is more important than IQ.
  5. Be the change want to see in the world.
  6. Keep things simple. Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication.
  7. Equality. Seek to get different points of view from people of different backgrounds.
  8. seek to understand first, then be understood.
  9. Trust but verify. Don’t micromanage and try to empower others.
  10. A business must have a mission and purpose beyond just profits. Start with why.
  11. Business can be the greatest platform for change.
  12. Trust should be the number 1 core value for any business
  13. Customer success / Customer centrism should be a company’s top core value. It should be operationalized in every aspect of the business.
